Aviarc obtains funding from Sealaska

Aviarc Corp., a provider of software for managing trade documents, has completed a financing agreement with Sealaska Corp., a native-owned private landowner in Alaska.

Terms of the financing were not disclosed. “Aviarc broadens Sealaska’s range of services,” part of a strategy “to expand our investment portfolio into high technology and homeland security solutions,” said Chris McNeil, chief executive officer of Sealaska Corp.

Sealaska’s support will enable Aviarc to offer customers “more efficient and cost-effective solutions to their document management needs,” said Rowena Gates, Aviarc’s founder and chief executive officer.

Sealaska, based in Juneau, is an Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Regional Corp. with more than 17,000 native shareholders.
