BA World Cargo suspends raise to fuel surcharge
British Airways World Cargo said Thursday it has suspended an increase to its fuel surcharge due to “the extreme volatility of the market, coupled with the fuel shortage created by the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina.”
The airline said its fuel index has risen to a level that would have triggered a rise to '0.37 (67 cents) per kilogram.
BA World Cargo said the suspension will be reviewed weekly.
