Bahamas agreement membership adjusted
The Florida-Bahamas Shipowners and Operators Association has submitted an amendment to the Federal Maritime Commission indicating a membership change, deleting G&G Maritime as a party to the agreement.
The FMC published the changes in the Federal Register. Other changes to the agreement included:
* Amendments to add authority for the parties to enter into joint contracts with third parties for professional services and to discuss and agree on a common position with respect to proposed governmental or industry actions.
* Adds a provision dealing with civil penalties.
* Revises the membership and voting provisions.
* Makes administrative changes to the agreement.
The members now include Atlantic Caribbean Line, Crowley Liner Services, Pioneer Shipping, Seaboard Marine, and Tropical Shipping.
