Baker retires from ICSC

The International Cargo Security Council, an association of 1,200 cargo transportation and security professionals, said Joe M. Baker Jr. will retire as executive director Jan. 1, after a tenure of nearly seven years.

Based in Annapolis, Md., the ICSC changed its name in 2004 from the National Cargo Security Council.

While Baker was executive director, the council expanded its membership, established a chapter in Europe, and 'formed partnerships with government,' said Scott Smith, ICSC chairman and president of Alpha Cargo Technology.

Baker told members of the ICSC he plans to consult on cargo security, transportation, and government issues.
