BAX GLOBAL PUTS PAYMENT ONLINE
BAX Global, the California-based integrated air freight subsidiary of The Pittston Co., has signed an agreement with National Processing Co. to make online bill payment available to customers via the BAX Web site at http://www.baxglobal.com .
BAX said it expects to generate 100,000 to 200,000 online bill payment transactions per year, targeting small- and medium-sized shippers. Customers can sign up by registering their bank account information at BAX's secure, password-protected Web site. BAX will be using NPC's VirtualPAY system.
“Many companies build Web sites to promote products and services hoping customers will log on and surf their site. By enabling the Web site with VirtualPAY, BAX Global increases their opportunity for product exposure and customer contact,” said Bob Ware, NPC vice president of e-commerce.
