BDP, ZIEGLER FORM TRANSATLANTIC PARTNERSHIP
BDP International, a Philadelphia-based freight transportation and logistics company, and Belgian firm Ziegler Network have formed a partnership to strengthen their operations in the transatlantic cargo market.
The partnership will boost both companies’ ability to negotiate favorable services from airlines and ocean carriers, said Arthur Ed. Ziegler, president of Ziegler Network.
Ziegler provides road, air and ocean transport service and logistics throughout European continent. The company also operates 9 million square feet of warehousing in Europe.
“This historic strategic alliance with the Ziegler organization will offer BDP clients significant competitive advantages as a pan European ground transportation network and an advanced warehousing system with bonded storage, order picking, assembly, packing and invoicing,” said Richard J. Bolte Jr., president of BDP.
Ziegler’s European clients will have better access to the U.S. market through BDP’s network of logistics facilities in 20 cities throughout the United States. The Belgian firm will also have access to BDP’s computer system.
