Bernuth announces bunker surcharge decrease
Bernuth Lines, one of the members of the Caribbean Shipowners Association, said Monday it will implement a decrease in its bunker fuel surcharge effective December 3.
The surcharge will decrease $24 for 20-foot containers to $120, $48 for 40-foot containers to $224, and $54 for containers over 40 feet to $255. For less-than-containerload cargo on measure rates for cubic feet, the surcharge will decrease 3 cents per unit to 13 cents, and LCL cargo measured in weight units of 100 pounds will decrease 6 cents to 26 cents per unit. The surcharge for vehicles up to 700 cubic feet will decrease $14 to $60, and vehicles larger than 700 feet will see a decrease of 3 cents per measure unit of 6 cents per weight unit, to 13 cents M/26 cents W.
The changes will apply to all tariff and service contract rates, the company said.
