Beystehner replaces Darden on UPS board of directors
UPS, the Atlanta-based provider of parcel delivery and supply chain services, said Wednesday its board of directors has appointed John Beystehner, UPS's chief operating officer and president of UPS Airlines, to serve as a company director.
Beystehner replaces Cal Darden, UPS senior vice president, who will resign from the board March 31. Beystehner will then stand for election to a regular one-year term at the annual UPS shareholders meeting in May.
Darden is retiring after a 33-year career at UPS. He has directed the company's U.S. operations for the past seven years, and has been a member of its board since 2001.
The company's board will continue to have three active employees serving as directors: Beystehner; Mike Eskew, UPS chairman and chief executive officer; and Lea Soupata, senior vice president for human resources.
