BIS streamlines export licensing for NATO members
The U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security has amended its export control regulations to provide equal licensing treatment for all country members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
NATO members specifically affected by the regulatory changes are Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The regulatory changes cover national security-based license requirements, national security licensing policy, availability of certain license exceptions, and certain in-transit transactions.
