Boardley appointed president of P&O Ports Canada
Vancouver, British Columbia-based P&O Ports Canada Inc. has appointed Tom Boardley as its president and chief executive officer, effective today.
Boardley was chief commercial officer of the London-based P&O Ports group.
He replaces Robin Silvester, who is returning to London to take on a newly created role as executive director of P&O Ports, reporting to executive chairman and group chief executive Robert Woods.
Boardley was part of the P&O Ports’ evaluation team that was involved in the $105-million purchase of Centerm and Canadian Stevedoring from BC Rail Marine Group last year. Centerm is one of Vancouver’s main container terminals and Canadian Stevedoring is British Columbia’s largest stevedoring company, operating in 16 British Columbian ports.
Boardley said plans to expand Centerm are being finalized.
