BOLT CUTS NORTH EUROPE/MONTREAL FREQUENCY

BOLT CUTS NORTH EUROPE/MONTREAL FREQUENCY

Russian non-conference operator BOLT has withdrawn one
of its three 824-TEU ships from the "BOLT Canada" service between northern
Europe and Montreal.
As a result, the frequency of the service has been lengthened from once
a week to every 10 days.
A European agent for BOLT said that the ship, the MOR Canada, may soon
rejoin the service.
The French shipping line Marfret continues to take space on the BOLT
service.
The fleet cutback by BOLT follows reports of a rate war in the
Europe/Canada trade. In recent months, Cast and Norasia have shortened the port rotations
of their northern Europe/Montreal services and Sea-Land Service has pulled out of the
trade.
Details of the revised rotations are available on the ComPair Data
global shipping database, at www.compairdata.com .
