Bortmes to lead CBP intel office
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Robert Bonner has appointed L. Thomas Bortmes as his top advisor on intelligence matters. As executive director of the Office of Intelligence, Bortmes will be responsible for collecting and analyzing intelligence from various sources within and outside government and applying the information to border security efforts to keep terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country.
Bortmes is a career intelligence officer who recently retired as a captain in the U.S. Navy.
