BOZZUTO PICKS ELOGEX FOR LOGISTICS PLATFORM
Bozzuto, a New England-based wholesale grocer, has contracted with Elogex Inc., a provider of collaborative solutions, to provide a transportation logistics platform for Bozzuto’s network of suppliers, customers, and carriers.
“For the first time, we will have a legitimate handle on our inbound freight opportunities,” said Jay McDowell, vice president of distribution for Bozzuto.
Elogex uses a single shared software application to integrate the entire supply chain life cycle for inbound and backhaul shipping.
Joe Callahan, Bozzuto’s vice president of transportation, said the Elogex network will enable Bozzuto to go from handling a minimum amount of its inbound freight scheduling to managing 35 percent after one year, and 50 percent after two years.
In addition to managing facility operations, the Elogex network will automate payment of the 12,000 freight bills that Bozzuto processes each year. The system will verify that all payments accurately reflect freight contract terms, and eliminate paper freight bills.
Bozzuto distributes food and other wholesale items to chain and independent supermarkets in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and across New England.
Elogex is based in Charlotte, N.C.
