Broadwater serves as interim Baltimore port director
The Maryland Transportation Department has named M. Kathleen Broadwater interim executive director of the state’s Port Administration.
Broadwater has served as the administration’s deputy executive director.
On Feb. 24, James J. White announced his resignation as executive director of the port administration, which oversees operations at the Port of Baltimore. White served as executive director since 1999.
Maryland Transportation Secretary Robert L. Flanagan appointed 12 shipping industry officials to serve as a search committee for a new executive director. The committee is chaired by Helen Delich Bentley, a former congresswoman and consultant to the port.
Flanagan has asked the committee to submit a short list of potential candidates for consideration by April 15.
