Burkina Faso cleared for AGOA trade benefits
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said Burkina Faso has adopted sufficient measures to prevent unlawful transshipment and the use of counterfeit documents for shipments of textiles and apparel, and is now eligible for U.S. trade benefits under the African Growth and Opportunity Act.
AGOA, passed by Congress in 2000, provides preferential tariff treatment for imports of certain textile and apparel products from beneficiary sub-Saharan African countries.
