BUSH FISCAL 2003 BUDGET PROPOSES $313 MILLION FOR ACE
The Bush administration’s budget proposal for fiscal 2003 includes $313 million for development of Customs’ future automated computer system, a $13-million increase over the previous year’s budget.
Customs’ Automated Commercial Environment is an estimated $1.4 billion system with a four-year development plan. In fiscal 2001, the agency received $130 million for ACE and, through industry lobbying, received $300 million in fiscal 2002.
