Bush names Boardman rail administrator
The White House said President Bush intends to nominate Joseph H. Boardman as administrator of the Department of Transportation's Federal Railroad Administration.
Boardman is commissioner of the New York State Department of Transportation. He was first deputy commissioner for that department.
Edward R. Hamberger, president and chief executive officer of the Association of American Railroads in Washington, D.C., said his organization was 'delighted' with Bush's choice of Boardman.
Hamberger noted Boardman was 'the driving force behind the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials 'freight-rail bottom line report,' which assesses U.S. rail infrastructure.
