BUSH PICKS NOBER TO STB POSITION

   President Bush on Wednesday said he has picked Roger P. Nober to be a member of the Surface Transportation Board for the remainder of a five-year term expiring in Dec. 2005.

   Bush said that upon Nober’s confirmation, he would be designated STB chairman.

   Nober has served as counsel to the Deputy Secretary of Transportation since May 2001. From 1997-2001, he was chief counsel for the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and from 1993-97, was counsel to the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation.
