BUSH SELECTS VERDERY, CARNES TO HOMELAND SECURITY POSTS
President George W. Bush has nominated C. Stewart Verdery Jr., as assistant secretary of Homeland Security (Border and Transportation Security Policy). Verdery is senior legislative counsel at Vivendi Universal Entertainment.
The White House also said the president intends to appoint Bruce Marshall Carnes as chief financial officer for the Department of Homeland Security. Carnes is chief financial officer of the Department of Energy.
