Butler, shipping and port executive, dies at 56
Edward A. Butler, a well-known international shipping and port management executive, died in Sedona, Ariz., Nov. 11. He was 56.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Butler semi-retired in 2002 after 32 years of working in the industry. For the last 16 years of his career, he was chief commercial officer for Dubai Ports Authority. Previously, Butler worked for United States Lines in New York and Panama, SeaTrain in New York, Commerce & Transport in Houston, and U.S. Navigation in New York.
Butler is survived by his wife, Mary; a brother and three sisters.
A funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona, Ariz. Visitation will commence one hour before the mass. A reception will be held at the Butler home in Sedona immediately following the service.
