Canada Maritime and Senator Lines are revising the fleet of their joint container services between Montreal and the Mediterranean.

Starting this month, four 1,500-TEU ships on the “Route A” weekly service will replace four 1,000-TEU vessels. Two of the bigger ships will be provided by Canada Maritime, and two by Senator.

The “Route C” fortnightly service, which was implemented last year on an interim basis, will be phased out with the arrival of larger ships on Route A.

Meanwhile, the “Route B” weekly service will continue to be served by four 1,000-TEU ships, all provided by Canada Maritime.

Canada Maritime said that overall capacity deployed in the joint service will remain essentially unchanged.
