CANADIAN GOVERNMENT APPROVES AIRLINE TALKS

Canada’s airline stocks rose on Monday after the
Canadian government gave struggling carrier Canadian Airlines International a temporary
reprieve from antitrust laws to discuss restructuring plans with
competitors.
Analysts expect Canadian Airlines, Air Canada and Calgary-based Westjet
Airlines to discuss a possible merger and other forms of cooperation on domestic and
international routes.
