CANADIAN NATIONAL REOPENS DAMAGED TRACK

Canadian National reopened a section of track in southern Illinois today that had been closed since a freight train derailed early last Sunday, spokesman Jack Burke told American Shipper.

Residents were evacuated for several days after 22 cars carrying hazardous material jumped the track. The train was traveling from Memphis to Champaign, Ill. Burke said the damaged cars have been removed and the track opened for business at 3 a.m. Friday.
