Canadian transpacific carriers to raise fuel surcharge 30%
The 11 member lines of the Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement serving the trade from Asia to Canada, said Tuesday that they will increase their quarterly fuel recovery charge by about 30 percent.
Effective Jan. 1, the new rates will be $445 per 20-foot container, $590 per 40-footer, $665 per 40-foot high-cube container, $745 per 45-footer, and $13 per weight/measure.
Previous rates were $345 per 20-foot container, $455 per 40-footer, $510 per 40-foot high-cube container, $580 per 45-footer, and $10 per weight/measure.
The Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement members are: APL, COSCO, Evergreen, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, “K” Line, CP Ships, MOL, NYK Line and OOCL.
