Cargo grows 12.5 percent in April at Rickenbacker
Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Ohio, handled more than 19.7 million pounds of cargo in April, a 12.5 percent increase compared to April 2005 activity, the airport said Tuesday.
Year-to-date, more than 74.4 million pounds of cargo moved through Rickenbacker for a 16.7 percent increase compared to the same time period in 2005 when 63.7 million pounds moved through the airport.
Officials said in a release that the cargo growth is due to AirNet, a company specializing in on-demand charter services for cargo and passengers, and the network of freight forwarders and cargo airlines such as FedEx, UPS, Evergreen International, Kalitta and Atlas, using Rickenbacker.
