Cargo ship aids Coast Guard in rescue
A 'Good Samaritan' cargo vessel assisted a U.S. Coast Guard cutter in a rescue operation involving 23 migrants in waters off the Dominican Republic, Coast Guard officials said.
The ro-pax vessel 'Caribbean Express,' which has roll-on/roll-off cargo as well as passenger cabins, joined the Coast Guard and a vessel from the Dominican navy in the rescue effort Saturday involving a capsized yola. One woman died, but 23 migrants were saved from the waters.
