Cargolux to start Ho Chi Minh flights

Cargolux Airlines International will introduce a twice-weekly service to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, effective Oct. 29.

The first of the new services will depart Luxembourg every Monday, via Dubai, with arrival in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday afternoons. This flight returns via Bangkok, arriving in Luxembourg on early Wednesday mornings. The second flight will operate out of Luxembourg on Friday evenings, via Dammam in Saudi Arabia, with arrival in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday afternoons. That service returns via Hong Kong and Sharjah, with arrival in Luxembourg on Sunday mornings.

Cargolux, Europe's largest all-cargo airline with a fleet of 15 Boeing 747-400 freighters, said it is adding the Vietnam city to its network due to “promising market development in this region.”

The airline said it expects cargo on the flight from Europe to be mainly general cargo, consumer goods and spare parts, while the return flight is likely to carry garments, footwear, handicraft and electronics to Europe, with additional seafood products, fruit and vegetables for Asian destinations.
