CAROTRANS ADDS DIRECT SCANDINAVIAN SERVICE THROUGH PARTNERSHIP
CaroTrans International Inc., the non-asset-based non-vessel-operating common carrier, has expanded a relationship with Nordicon AB, a Scandinavian neutral NVOCC.
Union, N.J.-based CaroTrans has acted as agent for Nordicon for U.S. import cargoes since February. With the expanded relationship, each company will act as agent for the other in their respective host geographies.
'With this partnership now in place, CaroTrans is announcing a new direct service between the U.S. and Scandinavia,' said Michael Forkenbrock, vice president of sales for CaroTrans. 'Cargo will be routed to New York for shipment direct to Gothenburg. 'We will now accept cargo destined for Sweden, Norway and Finland.
The NVOCC uses the only carrier to serve Gothenburg direct, Forkenbrock said.
Nordicon, established earlier this year, offers less-than-containerload and containerload import and export service between Sweden, Norway and Finland and more than 750 destinations around the world. In the United States, Nordicon offers a weekly direct service to New York, Charleston and Chicago.
