CaroTrans establishes partnership with NVOCC in South Africa

Thrutainers International and CaroTrans established a partnership to create an import and export less-than-container-load (LCL) service network between the United States and Sub-Saharan Africa.

CaroTrans, a global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator, and Thrutainers International, a NVOCC based out of South Africa, established a partnership to create an import and export less-than-container-load (LCL) service network between the United States and Sub-Saharan Africa, CaroTrans said.
The import and export LCL service network is comprised of direct services between U.S. locations including Atlanta, New York and Chicago; and South African locations including Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.
In addition to providing coverage at all major South African ports, located in the abovementioned South African cities, Thrutainers offers service to East Africa, West Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands via its transshipment hub in Durban. In addition, the South African NVOCC provides container freight stations, multimodal inland services and warehousing and distribution services throughout South Africa.
CaroTrans serves the U.S. markets with 13 offices throughout the country and a network of local container freight stations.
In addition, the two companies are committed to delivering Web-based and EDI technology solutions for freight management and end-to-end visibility, CaroTrans said.
