CAROTRANS NAMES AGENT, REINSTATES COLOMBIA SERVICE
CaroTrans International has reinstated southbound consolidation services from the United States to Colombia after appointing a new agent, Magnum Logistics, headquartered in Medellin, Colombia.
'CaroTrans suspended its Colombia service in June 2000 due to Colombia Customs regulations prohibiting the shipment of LCL cargo into the country. Those restrictions have eased,' said Greg Howard, executive vice president of CaroTrans International.
CaroTrans, the neutral non-vessel-operating common carrier, offers direct weekly sailings from Miami. The service has a three-day transit time to Cartagena. Cargo destined for Colombia is accepted at 26 receiving stations throughout the United States.
Magnum Logistics has offices in Bogota, Cali and Medellin.
