CaroTrans start new service to Brazil, Argentina

CaroTrans International has started a direct weekly service from Houston to the East Coast of South America.

CaroTrans, a Union, N.J.-based non-vessel-operating common carrier, will offer the southbound service to Santos, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

CaroTrans already serves those destinations, but cargo now moving through Houston would have previously been sent to Miami. With the new service, customers can get cargo to Santos in 22 days and to Buenos Aires in 25 days.

CaroTrans' Houston branch manager John Flynn said, 'We have seen increased booking volume on all our South American destinations. When the market warrants it, we prefer to offer our customers direct service, which provides for faster and more reliable scheduling, with less rehandling of cargo.'
