CARRIERS ALTER EUROPE/EAST COAST SOUTH AMERICA LINKS
Compania Sud Americana de Vapores and subsidiaries Euroatlantic Container Line, Hansa Star Line and Montemar, along with joint service partners Contship Containerlines and P&O Nedlloyd, have completed a review of their two joint services in the Europe/East Coast South America trade.
They have agreed to introduce several changes within the next weeks. Bilbao and Montevideo calls will be transferred from the weekly Sling 1 to the fortnightly Sling 2 service. Salvador will be transferred from Sling 2 to Sling 1. The Santos call on Sling 2 will be switched to a northbound call, instead of southbound.
The weekly Sling 1 service uses six vessels averaging 2,464 TEUs and will have a revised rotation of Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Santos, Paranagua, Buenos Aires, Itajai, Santos, Salvador, Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp and Le Havre.
The fortnightly Sling 2 service operates with three ships averaging 1,598 TEUs. The new port rotation will be Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp, Bilbao, Rio de Janeiro, Paranagua, Montevideo, Rio Grande, Itajai, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Rotterdam, Tilbury, Hamburg, Antwerp and Bilbao.
NYK and Senator Lines take space on both of the services.
