Carriers drop Savannah from “Eastabout” RTW loop
Contship Containerlines and P&O Nedlloyd are dropping calls at Savannah on their joint weekly Europe/Australia/New Zealand/U.S. East Coast “Eastabout” round-the-world service.
The vessel “Columbus New Zealand” makes the final call at Savannah on Feb. 16.
The carriers are expected to move Australian cargoes to Savannah by transshipment in the future.
The “Eastabout” service uses 10 ships of about 4,100 TEUs with P&O Nedlloyd operating seven ships and Contship three. The revised port rotation is Zeebrugge; Tilbury; Hamburg; Rotterdam; La Spezia; Damietta, Egypt; Melbourne; Sydney; Brisbane; Auckland; Napier; Port Chalmers; Manzanillo, Panama; Philadelphia, Pa.; and back to Zeebrugge.
CMA CGM, Hamburg Sud, Hapag-Lloyd, Marfret take slots on the full service. CP Ships carriers Australia-New Zealand Direct Line and Lykes Lines only take slots between Australia/New Zealand and the U.S.
Details of the revised service are available now on ComPairData (www.compairdata.com), the global on-line liner shipping database.
