Carriers end seasonal transpacific link
Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica, Maruba, Lykes Lines and TMM Lines have ended their joint weekly transpacific service that started in June.
The last sailing of the “Transpacific Express” was made on Oct. 10.
The service had used 5 ships averaging 1,542 TEUs and called Shanghai, Hong Kong, Yantian, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Yantian.
The ending of the services sees a loss of about 80,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity from the transpacific trade.
