Carriers make Australia/New Zealand/U.S. transshipment pact
Hamburg Sud, CP Ships-owned Contship Containerlines and P&O Nedlloyd are planning a space charter agreement in the trade connecting the ports of Australia and New Zealand with the U.S. port of Savannah.
The proposed “Manzanillo/Savannah space charter agreement,” filed with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission, would allow Contship and Hamburg Sud to charter space from P&O Nedlloyd for cargoes destined for Savannah and transshipped at Manzanillo in the Australia and New Zealand trade.
