CARRIERS RAISE RATES FROM EUROPE TO RED SEA AND MIDEAST
Conferences of shipping lines are planning to increase freight rates in April in the trades from northern Europe to the Red Sea and the Mideast.
The Europe Middle East Rate Agreement carriers will raise rates by $200 per container on April 1 for shipments from the U.K. and North Continental Europe to the Mideast.
The members of the agreement are Andrew Weir Shipping (Ellerman), CMA CGM, DSR Senator, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Sealand, P&O Nedlloyd, Safmarine
Container Line (CMB Transport) and United Arab Shipping Co.
The Jeddah Service Group has also announced a $200-per-container increase, effective April 1, from northern Europe to the Red Sea port of Jeddah.
The Jeddah Service Group carriers are CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Sealand, National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA), NYK, P&O
Nedlloyd and UASC.
