CARRIERS RESTRUCTURE U.S./INDIA CONSORTIUM

Indamex, the vessel-sharing agreement that provides a direct U.S. East Coast/India container service, is being restructured.

The former three-carrier agreement between CMA CGM, Contship Containerlines and Shipping Corporation of India will be formally terminated. A new agreement with the three former partners and APL will be set up, and will operate the service.

The service will operate larger containerships, and will retain the current port rotation.

CMA CGM, Contship Containerlines and Shipping Corporation of India have notified the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission of the ending of the vessel-sharing authority of their existing three-carrier agreement.
