CARRIERS SWITCH FLORIDA PORTS ON U.S./WEST COAST SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE

   In mid-March, Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica, Crowley American Transport and Compania Sud Americana de Vapores will switch calls from Miami to Port Everglades on their joint weekly U.S./West Coast South America “Americas” service.

   The vessel “Cap Ortegal” will make the first call at Port Everglades on March 23.

   The “Americas” service uses six ships averaging 2,391 TEUs. The revised port rotation is New York, N.Y.; Baltimore, Md.; Charleston, S.C.; Port Everglades, Fla.; Cartagena, Colombia; Manzanillo, Panama; Buenaventura; Guayaquil; Callao; San Antonio; San Vicente; Callao; Guayaquil; Buenaventura; Manzanillo; Cartagena; Port Everglades; New York; Baltimore and Charleston.

      APL, CMA CGM and Columbus Line all take space on the service.
