Carriers switch Seattle terminal on U.S. West Coast/Australasia loop
Hamburg S'd said Wednesday it is switching from APL Seattle Terminal to SSA’s T-18 facility for Seattle calls on its U.S. West Coast/Australia/New Zealand (PANZ) service.
PANZ is joint service between Hamburg S'd, Far Eastern Shipping Co., and CP Ships carrier Australia-New Zealand Direct Line (ANZDL). Lykes Lines, Maersk Sealand and P&O Nedlloyd Container Line also take space on the service which has a 12-day sailing frequency.
The first vessel to call at the T-18 terminal will be the 2,227-TEU “Direct Tui”, operated by ANZDL, on or about June 12, Hamburg S'd said.
Hamburg S'd said the move will improve its operational efficiency by consolidating its calls at Seattle on both the “PANZ” service and the “West Coast Americas-Asia” rotation, which also calls at the T-18 terminal.
