CARRIERS TO ADD LAEM CHABANG TO SAFARI SERVICE
The joint fixed-day weekly Asia-Africa Safari service is adding a westbound call to Laem Chabang in Thailand from April 1, said Maersk Sealand.
At the same time, P&O Nedlloyd is withdrawing from the service and removing its two ships. The service will continue to use nine ships with Maersk Sealand vessels replacing the P&O Nedlloyd pair.
The other carriers providing vessels to the Safari service are Safmarine (three vessels), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (two), K Line (one) and Malaysia International Shipping Corp. (one).
The revised port rotation of the service will be Yokohama, Kobe, Busan, Keelung, Hong Kong, Laem Chabang, Singapore, Port Kelang, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Cape Town, Durban, Port Kelang, Singapore, Keelung, Yokohama, Kobe and Busan.
