Cathay Pacific makes its largest plane order
Cathay Pacific Airways today placed its largest-ever aircraft order, making commitments for 16 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with purchase rights for 20 more, as well as commitments for three Airbus A330-300s. The Hong Kong-based airline did not disclose any financial details.
The 777-300ERs, to be delivered between September 2007 and July 2010, will be bought through 12 direct purchases from Boeing and four operating leases from International Lease Finance Corp. The three new A330-300’s, all to be delivered in 2008, will also be acquired via operating leases from ILFC.
Cathay Pacific’s fleet totals 95 aircraft.
