CATHAY PACIFIC ORDER TWO BOEING FREIGHTERS

   Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. said it has placed an order with Boeing for
two new 747-400 freighters.
   The freighters will be used in Cathay Pacific’s main Asia trade routes.
The Hong Kong-based airline said the first plane would be delivered in
September 2000 and the second in August 2001.
   The airline owns nine freighters. Cathay operates two Boeing 747-400s, four
727-200s. Three additional 747-200s are operated by Air Hong Kong, in which Cathay holds a
75-percent stake.
