Cathay suspends flights to Colombo again
Cathay Pacific has once again suspended its flights to the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo following another terrorist attack in the city over the weekend.
Aircraft of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam on Saturday bombed fuel depots in and around Colombo in the second such aerial attack by the rebel organization. The attacks shut Colombo's airport for only an hour, but the Hong Kong-based airline has decided to suspend operations in and out of the island nation, much as it did earlier this month when the Tamil Tigers first bombed a Sri Lankan military installation.
'Safety is a top priority at Cathay Pacific and a careful assessment of the situation will be made before services are resumed,' the airline said in a statement.
