Cathay’s air freight traffic up 19.1% in July
Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific today reported a 19.1 percent year-on-year jump in air freight traffic for July to 96,228 tons.
For the year-to-date, the airline has carried 614,148 tons of cargo, up 11.5 percent over the 550,719 tons carried in the same period last year.
“July was another good month with healthy growth in exports from the (Chinese) Mainland to the United States and Europe. Transshipments from Shanghai were particularly strong helping to boost overall tonnage growth,” said Ron Mathison, Cathay Pacific’s director and general manager cargo.
“High fuel prices continued to take the shine off strong revenue,” Cathay Pacific said.
