CBP seeks ACE assessment

Michael Mullen, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s director of trade relations, is requesting feedback from importers and brokers who have accounts in the new automated trade processing system about any problems experienced so far and additional functionality they desire.

ACE features accounts that allow companies to pay duties on a monthly basis rather than per entry and generate reports about their national import activity.

In a letter to the trade community, Mullen said he wanted the most up-to-date information to guide U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s development of the Automated Commercial Environment and allow for necessary corrections.
