CELARIX RAISES $45 MILLION IN CAPITAL
Celarix, Inc., the Internet information technology firm specialized in shipping and logistics, has raised $45 million in capital from investors.
The funding was a third round of financing, led by Chase H&Q. Additional investors participating in the financing include Technology Crossover Ventures, Integral Capital Partners, Charles River Ventures, TL Ventures, Comdisco and other private investors.
Celarix, based in Boston, Mass., said that the financing was required to develop new functionality within its web-based services, make strategic acquisitions and further expand the company.
“The size of this round demonstrates incredible support by the investment community for Celarix and speaks volumes to the growth potential of this market,” said Doug Smith, managing director of Chase H&Q.
Founded in August 1998, Celarix provides shippers and transportation service providers with integrated applications that combine the ability to manage the procurement of transportation services and the logistics process on-line.
