Census to conduct annual retail trade survey
The U.S. Census Bureau will conduct its annual retail trade survey to collect data covering annual sales and e-commerce sales.
The survey will also cover the percent of e-commerce sales to customers located outside the United States, year-end inventories, purchases, accounts receivables and, for select industries, merchandise line sales and percent sales by class of customer.
The agency will select a sample of U.S. retailers to participate in the survey. It will also provide the report forms to the firms, which must be filled out and returned to Census within 30 days after receipt.
Census has conducted its annual retail trade survey since 1951.
