Ceres appoint NY/NJ port operations vice president
Weehawken, N.J.-based Ceres Terminals Inc. has appointed Gary J. Lesnevich vice president of its New York/New Jersey port operations.
Lesnevich will oversee all Ceres operations and administrative functions in the port of New York/New Jersey, as well as the development of the company’s newly formed Ceres Atlantic Terminal in Bayonne, N.J. He will also be responsible for the coordination and administration of cruise operations in other ports where Ceres operates within the U.S. East and Gulf coasts.
He will be based in Ceres’ corporate headquarters.
He began working with International Terminal Operating Co. Inc. in the port New York/New Jersey in the late 1960s, and when ITO was acquired by P&O Ports North America in 1999, his responsibilities focused on cruise, roll-on/roll-off and automobile operations.
Ceres Terminals Inc., a major North American stevedore and marine terminal operator, was acquired by Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha in October 2002.
