CF AIRFREIGHT OPENS SERVICE CENTERS IN LONDON, AMSTERDAM
CF AirFreight, in an attempt to expand its market presence in Europe, has opened full-service client centers in London and Amsterdam.
The London center, near Heathrow International Airport, includes warehousing, offices and client support staff within one building. Mike Quish has been named director of international development. He will be based at the new center, responsible for expanding the company's customer base throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
David Stevens, CF AirFreight's managing director, said the U.K. division later this year will establish a full-service sales and operational facility near Manchester, England, to serve accounts in northern England and Scotland.
Ingrid Fonker has been appointed sales manager for the new center at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. She has more than 20 years of industry experience.
The Amsterdam office works in conjunction with CF AirFreight's European headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
The air and ocean freight forwarder, which specializes in expedited air-freight services, has served Europe's leading markets through a series of strategic partnerships through professional freight forwarding agents. CF AirFreight said it will continue to open independent offices and logistics operations as demand increases across the continent.
Richard McCrady Sr., president of CF AirFreight, said his company's is building its presence and infrastructure to prepare for a predicted consolidation in the freight forwarding industry.
“We believe the industry's 2,500 top freight forwarders will continue to consolidate,” McCrady said. “And with five years, CF AirFreight will be in position to be one of the top half-dozen forwarders in the world in terms of both size and sales.”
