CHINA SHIPPING ADD MED CALLS TO ASIA/NORTH EUROPE LINK
China Shipping Group, the expansionist Chinese carrier,
has entered the Asia/Mediterranean trade by adding Mediterranean calls to one of its two
Asia/northern Europe container services.
Ships of the "Loop 2" service now call at Naples, Genoa and
Barcelona before proceeding to Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Antwerp.
The carrier has also added calls at Shanghai and Jakarta to this loop.
In Asia, the Loop 2 service calls direct at Dalian, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong,
Chiwan and Jarkata.
A spokesman for China Shipping Group said that the carrier may
introduce a service from Asia to the U.S. East Coast via the Mediterranean.
